The Hound Inn serves a number of starters to get the juices flowing. From our traditional homemade soup, to our special Hound Pudding (a generous portion of black pudding, a rasher of back bacon and a free range fried egg, served with mango chutney and salad garnish)
We serve all your classic, traditional pub main courses all homecooked using locally sourced meat and vegetables.
Choose from meals such as our Pie of the Day (served with vegetables and homemade chips or potatoes) or our Roast of the Day (served with roast and mashed potatoes and today's selection of roast vegetables). Please ask your server for today's pie filling and selection of meats.

If steak is more your taste, we do not disappoint. We have tender steaks cooked to your taste and preference, ranging from 10oz Sirloin and 10oz Ribeye Steaks (served with homemade chips, grilled tomato, sautéed mushrooms, onion rings and peas) to our 10oz Horseshoe Gammon (served with free-range egg or pineapple, homemade chips and peas).
We source our fish from the seaside town of Whitby, which is historically famous for its fishing industry heritage.
We offer dishes ranging from Oven Baked Salmon Fillet, to Extra Large Whitby Whole Scampi Tails and Whitby Large Battered Cod (both served with homemade chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce).
The Hound Inn offers a beautiful, homemade three-course Sunday Lunch. With starters ranging from Creamy Garlic Mushrooms to vegetarian Vegetable Spring Rolls with sweet chilli dipping sauce.
Our traditional roast dinners consist one of the following meats: roast topside of beef, roast leg of lamb, roast leg of pork and oven baked ham. All of our meats are served with mashed and roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and fresh vegetables of the day. We also have a cheese and broccoli bake with potatoes and vegetables as a vegetarian option.
Our desserts range from a beautiful homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding with Butterscotch sauce, Jam or Syrup Sponge, or a traditional Apple Pie.
